THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) says the nomination application of Nevers Mumba as MMD presidential candidate in the August 11 elections remains valid.
ECZ public relations manager Crispin Akufuna said in an interview yesterday this is because the ECZ had received 50 percent payment for the nomination fee before the court processes and subsequent convention that elected Felix Mutati as MMD president.
“Dr Mumba had already paid at the time before all these court issues and the convention had taken place,” Mr Akufuna said.
Mr Akufuna said the nomination fee is not refundable.
