THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has postponed nominations and polling dates for the Kasenengwa, Mkushi South and Solwezi Central parliamentary by-elections until further notice.
The postponement has been necessitated by litigations before the court in the three parliamentary by-elections.
ECZ senior public relations officer Sylvia Bwalya confirmed this in a statement released in Lusaka yesterday.
Nominations in the three by-elections were slated for January 28, 2014, while the polling date was set for February 25.
ECZ has also postponed nominations and by-elections in Chingombe, Kamimbya, Munda, Nkomashi and Chipaba wards in Mkushi South constituency.
Ms Bwalya, however, said the Katuba parliamentary by-election and nominations in six local government seats will take place as scheduled on January 28, and February 25, this year respectively.
