Pambashe pf member of parliament ronald chitotela says people have misinterpreted president Edgar Lungu’s use of a bemba idiom ‘uubomba mwibala alya mwibala’.
Mr. Chitotela who had accompanied the president to the copperbelt has told journalists in Lusaka that the media only picked the idiom without explaining the context it was used.
He says president Lungu was urging the pf provincial leadership to ensure the monies received from the donor community for the construction of the party provincial administration block should factor in the management fee which is ten percent.
He says they should not eat what is not for them apart from the ten percent management fee.
Mr. Chitotela states that it is unfortunate that the media in question only cut from the bemba idiom to twist it and sound as if the president was encouraging his ministers or any other official to steal public funds.
Mr. Chitotela, who is also housing and infrastructure development minister, says the president has already demonstrated his resolve to end misuse of public funds during the workshop for ministers and controlling officers last week.
