Patriotic Front’s 2011 general election winning Secretary General, Wynter Kabimba has resigned from the party.
Mr Kabimba, who is also former Justice Minister, announced his resignation the PF today stating that recent happenings in the ruling party had prompted him to quit.
His resignation comes hours before the much anticipated PF general conference to choose a party president.
Mr Kabimba, who once boasted of being tolerated by late republican president Michael Sata, was fired as PF secretary general and justice minister on 28th August, 2014 in what came as a shock to many Zambians.
For a long time, Mr Kabimba was considered to be a fierce leader and potential successor to the late president.
