Speaking during media briefing in Lusaka this morning Mr. Hichilema has said that this is because he thinks that the ruling PF has allegedly failed to provide quality leadership to Zambian people.
Mr. Hichilema notes much as it may be difficult for other people to accept that time has come for his party to govern the country, people understand that God is great.
He says he believes that God has chosen his party for a purpose.
The UPND president has also accused the ruling PF of disturbing peaceful campaigns for the forthcoming August 19th Mangango by-election.
He says his party therefore warns that no one should complain if it invokes citizen’s arrest on any PF official found abrogating the Electoral Code of Conduct.
Meanwhile Mr. Hichilema has expressed concern on what he has terms as arrogant drama following the recent remarks by PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba on the constitution.
During the media briefing some PF members also defected to the UPND.

I think if God has something to do with their desire of politicians for power they must provide concrete proof of this – the power to govern comes through the vote – not divine providence. What’s to stop some charlatan making a similar claim?
