Former President Rupiah Banda has not intentions of coming out of retirement to contest for the presidency, his office has said.
This follows suggestions by some politicians in the opposition that Mr. Banda is planning a political comeback ahead of the 2016 elections.
But the former President Deputy Administrative Assistant Kennedy Limwanya has told QFM News in an interview that Mr Banda’s retirement from politics stands.
Mr Limwanya says no truth suggestions that Mr. Banda is plotting a political comeback.
He says it will be unfair for anyone to start circulating such reports about the former President when he has been away from politics for a long time.
Mr Limwanya says Mr Banda is in South Africa concentrating on his medical reviews and is not privy to such.
