Opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) President Nevers Mumba has dismissed as lies the projected bumper maize harvest for the 2013 – 2014 farming season.
Dr. Mumba told Lusaka’s Qfm that the scientific projection government has made is a complete fabrication which people in the country should not believe.
Dr. Mumba said he is convinced that such fabrications are based on the same platform of alleged lies the ruling Patriotic Front used to get into power in the 2011 general elections.
He said this is because it is already clear that Agriculture policies that can possibly support the projected bumper harvest have been misplaced.
Yesterday, President Michael Sata announced on his Facebook status update that Zambia will produce a bumper harvest for the 2013 -2014 farming season with maize production expected to be over three million, three thousand metric tonnes.
