Clive Chirwa has been retired as Zambia Railways chief executive officer in national interest.
Minister of Transport, Communications, Works and Supply Yamfwa Mukanga told Zambia National Broadcast Corporation today that his permanent secretary, Muyenga Atanga, will continue to act as chief executive officer until a replacement is found.
Before retiring Prof. Chirwa, Mr Mukanga had suspended him to pave way for investigations into corruption allegations that the Zambia Railways board levelled against him soon after he dissolved it on similar grounds.
