Justice Minister EDGAR LUNGU has held a closed door meeting with the members of the Grand Coalition on the constitution making process.

The meeting which lasted for about two hours on Thursday raised pertinent issues among them the time frame for the enactment of the new constitution, census and appointment of the referendum commission.

Speaking to ZNBC news after the meeting at cabinet office in Lusaka, Mr. LUNGU said the discussions went on well.

He said meeting was aimed at building consensus and moving the agenda of constitution making forward.

Mr. LUNGU said the two parties also exchanged views in a very honest manner.

And Grand Coalition chairperson Father LEONARD CHITI said the two parties appreciated each other’s views.

Father CHITI said the coalition is next week scheduled to meet and strategise on how to respond to some of the issues that government has raised.
