Zambia’s kwacha drops after mining power cuts outlined

Zambia’s kwacha weakened 2.4 percent against the dollar on Wednesday, a day after Africa’s second largest copper producer said it planned to cut power supplies to mines by up to 30 percent.

 

The local unit hit a session low of 7.7500 to the greenback, a level last reached on March 19, Thomson Reuters data shows. (Writing by Stella Mapenzauswa; Editing by Joe Brock) (Reuters)
