President Edgar Lungu has called on traditional leaders in Southern Province to reject anyone promoting tribalism.

Mr. LUNGU says this is because the country has been founded on the principles of One Zambia One Nation motto.

The President says traditional leaders in southern province should NOT entertain any political leader championing tribalism.

President Lungu was speaking when he met Chiefs from Southern province on Monday.

Meanwhile, President Lungu says government is considering transferring the Rural Roads Units-RRU- from provincial administration to Zambia National service.

Mr. LUNGU says this is because the RRU has NOT performed to expectations.

He says government wants to infuse RRU into ZNS because ZNS has performed well in roads and bridge construction countrywide.
