HH scoops Kalabo Central constituency
Kalabo, January 22, 2015, ZANIS—Opposition UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema has scooped the final results of the Presidential by-election in Kalabo Central Constituency in Western polling 6,495 followed by Edgar Lungu of the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) with 1,271 votes.
This is according to results released and announced by the Returning Officer Fredrick Siyunda at the District Council Chamber which is the totalling centre for the Constituency at 02:48 hours this morning.
Edith Nawakwi of the FDD got 151 votes, followed by UNIP’s Tiliyenji Kaunda who got 60 votes.
Miyanda Godfrey of the Heritage Party scored 47, Eric Chanda of Fourth Revolution Party got 45 votes followed by Nevers Mumba of MMD with 39 votes.
Mr Siyunda announced that Elias Chipimo of NAREP got 29 votes, Ludwig Sondashi of the FDA had 12 votes, CDP’s Dan Pule got 6 votes and Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba scored 4 votes.
He said out of a total number of 8,244 ballot papers cast, 85 were rejected.
Kalabo Central Constituency has 59 polling stations with 41,827 registered voters.
