HH leads in Mufumbwe

—UPND President, Hakainde Hichilema, is enjoying a comfortable lead in Mufumbwe in North Western province with 8,759 votes, against his closest rival, Patriotic Front’s Edgar Lungu, who has 1022 from 33 polling stations announced so far.

Other candidates are still below 100 with UNIP’s Tilyenji Kaunda getting 66 votes, 4th Revolution’s Eric Chanda 47 votes, while  NAREP’s Elias Chipimo  has managed 35 votes. 

Heritage Party’s Godfrey Miyanda has 34, MMD’s Nervas Mumba has 20, with CDP’s Dan Pule getting 14.

Edith Nawakwi of FDD has eight (8) votes while Green Party’s Peter Sinkamba has six (6) votes. 

There are 40 polling stations in Mufumbwe with a total of 27, 027 registered voters. 

Ballots from the seven (7) remaining polling stations will be airlifted to the totaling centre today and are expected in by mid-day.

The seven polling stations are Mufumbwe, Musonweji, Kamipando, Lalafuta, Miluji, Shimpandaga and Kabanga.
