MMD National Secretary Muhabi Lungu made announcement of the dissolution during a media briefing in Lusaka this morning.
Mr Lungu says this has been done with the view of appointing an interim committee which will oversee the reorganization of the party at district and community level.
Mr. Lungu says the western province Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) has also been given a month to ensure that all positions in the executive are filled up.
He adds that in conformity with recommendations from the Provincial Executive Committee, the Lukulu and Kaoma districts executives together with the Mangango constituency executive have been dissolved.
Mr Lungu adds that Zambezi district and its respective constituency, Zambezi west, Vubwi district with its entire constituency, Kabwe, Chisamba, Kawambwa alongside the executive committees of Pambashe and Mwansabombwe constituencies have also been dissolved .
Mr. Lungu notes that the reasons for the changes are varied some of which have to do with complacency of the structures, dishonesty and disloyalty and lack of commitment to the ideals of the party.
He also says the party has decided to reopen applications for consideration of candidates in the three nullified by-elections to be held in Petauke, Malambo and Mulobezi constituencies.
