Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) National Secretary Muhabi Lungu says the party is yet to decide whether to fill in the three vacant position of the party during the next National Executive Committee meeting.

Mr Lungu said according to the MMD manifesto, the NEC is supposed to meet every after three months to discuss pertinent issues affecting the party.

He said the three senior vacant positions include that of MMD Vice President for Politics which was previously held by Michael Kaingu.

Mr Lungu that the other one is that of  Vice President for administration which  was occupied by  Brain Chituwo and former Pentauke Member of Parliament Dora Siliya who was  party spokesperson.

Mr Lungu told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that his party last held its NEC meeting in May this year adding that the next meeting will be held in August this year.

He has since urged MMD supporters to be patient as everything is being done so resolve the vacancies of three senior positions in the party.

Mr Lungu, however, said it was not mandatory that the party will fill in the three vacant positions during the next sitting.

He said the party might decide that the matter should continue pending until when an appropriate time party feels it fir to fill the positions.

And Mr Lungu has said his party has welcomed the move taken by the Transparent International Zambia (TIZ) to publish names of suspected corrupt public officers cited in the Auditor General’s report.

Mr Lungu said the move is welcome although it has come too late despite several considerable appeals from the concerned stakeholders.

He noted that the MMD will be looking forward to implement the idea by TIZ as promised to the Zambian people.
