Government says a technical committee appointed to look into Konkola Copper Mine’s operational challenges which led to the mine announcing plans to lay-off over 1,500 workers has completed its investigations.
Mines deputy Minister Richard Musukwa has told QFM News in an interview that the ministry is going through the findings and how the recommendations can be implemented.
Mr Musukwa says the ministry will issue a comprehensive statement in the course of this week with regards findings at KCM by the technical committee.
The Deputy Minister has also reiterated the Patriotic Front government’s commitment to job creation, adding that its allegiance is with the people of Zambia.
