Masumba was sentenced to year imprisonment with hard labour yesterday by Lusaka Magistrate Wilfred Mumba.
Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) Executive Director Neo Simutanyi says it will be the most decent thing for Masumba to resign from his government position following his conviction.
Dr Simutanyi says Masumba should not wait for President Michael Sata to relieve him of his duties in government.
Dr. Simutanyi has told Qfm in a telephone interview that Masumba cannot morally hold on to his government position as deputy Minister following his conviction.
The Mufumbwe Member of Parliament was convicted for obtaining an accounting diploma from NIPA by false pretences which he used to gain employment Lusaka Business and Technical College.
