Ghana’s Mubarak Wakaso looking forward to the ‘motivating’ clash against Zambia in their last game of the World Cup qualifying Group D
Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso said he and his teammates are eagerly anticipating a third successive World Cup appearance as they get ready for a crucial Group D tie against Zambia in the qualifiers.
A draw for Ghana at home to Zambia in the 6 September clash will be enough to lift them to the final playoff round. The Black Stars have 12 points from five games, one ahead of second-placed Zambia.
“For me this match is really motivating. We have been talking about this game which we consider as our life,” Espanyol’s Wakaso was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet.
“Because when we win we will remain on the path towards World Cup qualification. It is a game we are eagerly awaiting and hopefully we will make it.”
Ghana reached the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals before being knocked out by Uruguay.
