NEVERS MUMBA DECLARES HUNGER STRIKE UNTIL PETITION IS HEARD

Banner 3

MMD president Dr Nevers Mumba declares hunger strike to protest against court refusal to hear the presidential petition challenging Mr. Edgar Lungu’s victory in the heavily disputed 16 august, election in spite of provision of the newly amended constitution.

He is remanded in custody at woodlands police station on the bailable offence of criminal trespassing after he went to the national government-controlled station on 8th September to seek clarification over an unclear news item on the station’s 1900hrs bulletin on the ongoing court cases on the petition.

The state police had earlier gone to his residence with a search warrant for stolen firearms. When they drew a blank the charge was suddenly changed to criminal trespass at ZNBC and quickly moved him to woodlands police station where he is under police custody

Nevers Mumba must understand that the rigging process involves so many big brains in the corridors of power. It takes years to fight that. Let him eat something or else sickness might take him.
