A ZAMBIAN woman has won the world title of young international freight forwarder 2015, an award by the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) in conjunction with TT club.
TT club is an international transport and logistics industry’s leading provider of insurance and related risk management services.
Daniella Smal representing Zambia through the Zambia Customs and Forwarding Agents Association won the Africa/ Middle East region award 2015 in July and was invited to compete at the FIATA world congress for the world title last week in Taipei.
According to a statement released by FIATA, Ms Smal scooped first price beating four other contenders.
“The diverse subjects covered included the transport of liquid argon, copper cathodes, high fashion garments, and air separation plant, a clear example of the variety of challenges the industry is facing to provide crucial trade services,” the statement reads in part.
The award is meant to recognise forwarding excellence to encourage the development of quality and enhanced visibility.
Speaking during the award ceremony TT club manager Mike Yarwood congratulated Ms Smal and three other winners from Canada, Kazakhstan and England.
Mr Yarwood said his organisation will continue to sponsor the award next year.
