Sources have told QFM News that the injured Police officer was alone at the time the armed criminal pounced.
And Police have confirmed the incident to QFM News but could not give more details citing security reasons.
Police Public Relations officer Rea Hamoonga has warned that criminals that attacked the Police station and injured the officer will be hunted down and made to face the wrath of the law.
Mr Hamoonga says Police officers are already on the ground to investigate the matter.
He declined to disclose the name of the injured officer or confirm the name of the Police post which was attacked.
Recently armed criminals attacked Manda Hill Police Post in Lusaka opening fire, sending the officers who were caught off guard scampering for safety.
