Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia chapter has defended the credibility of the MISA awards held last Friday.
MISA Zambia acting board Chairperson Hellen Mwale has told Qfm News in an interview that the entries for the awards were presided over by competent judges who cannot be biased in their adjudication.
Ms. Mwale explains that contrary to assertions that MISA favored certain media houses to win the awards, the awards were free and fair.
Ms Mwale says MISA is satisfied with the work the judges did in coming up with the winners of the awards.
She has since encouraged journalists from all media houses to participate in the awards by submitting their entries instead of simply complaining.
Ms. Mwale has however accepted acknowledged that there was a mistake in contacting would be winner before the actual day of the awards.
Meanwhile, Ms Mwale says MISA Zambia has written to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services over media institutions that have been banned from covering functions at State house.
