ZNBC News reports that Mr Mwamba made the announcement to his supporters in Kasama today.Mr Mwamba has further stated that he will consult the electorate in Kasama central whether he should also resign as Member of Parliament.He attributed his decision to quit to the ongoing impasse between government and the Bemba Traditional Council over the recognition of Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.
Mr Mwamba said he has chosen to side with the Paramount Chief designate because he is a blood relation who cannot be overlooked for political interest.
Government has refused to recognize Henry Kanyanta Sosala as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.
