Royal establishment supports PF candidate in Mkushi
Ndola, June 25, ZANIS —-The Shaibila Royal Establishment of Mkushi district has pledged to support the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Ingrid Mpande in the forth coming by-election.
And the Shaibila Royal Establishment which is the largest chiefdom in Mkushi has called on all political parties taking part in the by-election to desist from violence as it disadvantaged the women, children and the disabled.
Spokesperson for the Shaibila Royal Establishment Princess Doreen Mwape told ZANIS in an interview in Ndola yesterday that the chiefdom was in support of the government of the day adding that they are happy with the adoption of a female candidate.
Princess Mwape who is a sister to Chief Mboloma of the Lala people in Mkushi urged women in the area to turn up in numbers and support their fellow woman during the by-election.
She noted that in Zambia women did not support their fellow women but that it should not be the case in Mkushi.
“As Shaibila Royal Establishment we are urging women to turn up in numbers to support their fellow woman. The issue of women not supporting their fellow women should not apply in Mkushi and we are further urging those that were not adopted to respect the decision of the Central Committee and support the one adopted,” Princess Mwepe said.
She also praised government for turning Luano into a district saying the ruling party had proved to be a government for the poor.
“The PF has continued to think of the poor as it has demonstrated that it is keen to deliver good services to all the people across the country and this is why our chiefdom is in support of its policies,” she said.
