Kazanga ceremony postponed

Kazanga traditional ceremony of the Nkoya speaking people in Kaoma has been postponed due to the death of the cultural festival’s executive committee.

The ceremony was scheduled to take place this coming weekend.

Kazanga Cultural Association National Publicity Secretary Raymond Kabindama disclosed that the association chairperson, Edwin Nkomesha, died on Sunday, 23rd June 2013 in Lusaka after a short illness.

Mr. Kabindama told ZANIS in Mongu today that the association could therefore not go ahead with the festival as planned.

He said the late Mr. Nkomesha will be put to rest on Thursday, 27th June 2013 in Lusaka.

He said the association will join the rest of Kaoma residents and the country as a whole in mourning Mr. Nkomesha.

Mr. Kabindama regretted the inconveniences that may have been caused by the postponement of the ceremony.
