FIRST National Bank (FNB) has once again made a record entry of the biggest number of participants ever registered from one organization by the Inter-Company Relay. The institution has registered a total of 101 participants in this year’s ICR.
The participation includes one relay team, one C.E.O., 86 Health Walkers and 6 individual runners who will join Home affairs Minister Edgar Lungu in running the full 11.5km at a total cost of Kr 30, 700. This is apart from the Kr 15,000 FNB has paid for sponsorship. This is remarkable participation.
FNB took part in the ICR for the first time in 2012 with a record 67 participants and have this year broken their own record. The bank has expressed their satisfaction at the team building aspect found in the socially friendly atmosphere the ICR creates. The management feels that this enhances their social cohesion and bonding at all levels of staff structure for higher productivity.
ICR chairman Elias Mpondela is happy with the overwhelming response from the organizations and reports that preparations for the event are on track. “We are very happy about these latest entries and this also justifies our reasons for extending the deadline for registration. FNB have demonstrated their understanding of the concept of ICR. We are very excited and happy with this exemplary participation”.
Amongst the latest entries are Zambia Public Procurement Authority, Shoprite Checkers, National Breweries, Pensions Insurance Authority, Hill & Delamain, amongst others and confirmed participation stands at 95 companies.
