Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Sinjembela Member of Parliament (MP), Poniso Njeulu, has assured the people of Shangombo district that government will complete all the developmental projects which were currently being carried out in the area.
Mr. Njeulu, who is also Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said government has already embarked on a vigorous programme of constructing roads and infrastructure in the district.
He said this is in line with President Michael Sata’s directive to have all government ministries in the district to facilitate for quality delivery of service.
Mr. Njeulu also said government, through the Rural Roads Unit (RRU), will soon embark on a programme of rehabilitating various major roads in Sioma and Shangombo districts.
And Mr. Njeulu has disclosed that the Zambia Information Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) will next month start erecting communication towers in Shangombo and Sioma districts.
He said once the communication towers are installed, investment in the towns will be boosted thereby putting more money into people’s pockets.
Meanwhile, Mr. Njeulu has disclosed that Shangombo will in the near future have a community radio station.
He said the community radio station in Shangombo will be constructed through the use of the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) allocated to Sinjembela constituency.
Mr. Njeulu said the radio station will be advantageous to the local people as it will facilitate a forum where the community will advertise their goods and services.
