Kufuna calls for roadwork supervision in Mansa
Mansa, Apr 16/13, ZANIS————Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister, John Kufuna, has called on the local authority in Mansa closely monitor the road works that Mansa town has been allocated to in both the Pave Zambia and townships roads projects.
Mr Kufuna says there is need by the council to ensure that the roads are constructed according to the contractual agreement.
The deputy minister said through the Pave Zambia and townships roads project, Mansa, like any other town, has an opportunity of improving the its outlook, saying this will only be achievable if there is close supervision of the projects.
Mr Kufuna said this in Mansa yesterday when he toured township roads that are earmarked for upgrading.
Mr Kufuna warned that government will not tolerate any contractor that will want to frustrate efforts of the government through breaching of contractual obligation.
Earlier, the deputy minister disclosed that government had allocated KR 800, 000 for the improvement of selected markets in Mansa district.
Mr Kufuna is in Luapula province to check on projects which include markets, roads, water supply and council infrastructure.
Mr Kufuna has so far toured Kawambwa, and Mwansabombwe and is expected tour Samfya.
