Kasama Arts Theatre club in the northern province is scouting for funds to enable it participate in United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) conference to be co-hosted by Zambia and Zimbabwe in August this year.
Kasama Arts Theatre director Peter Chinunda says his team has been selected to represent northern province at a gala for the UNWTO conference but is short of funds to enable it participate.
Mr Chinunda is appealing for financial assistance from well-wishers to enable his team show case their talent at the high profiled gala in Livingstone.
Mr. Chinunda said the club has managed to secure itself an attire to use at the gala but needs transport and finances to enable the team travel to Livingstone.
He urged upcoming artists to network with other clubs to promote arts and culture in order to become renowned artists in the nation.
Meanwhile, Northern Provincial cultural Officer Adder Ngoma has called on artists to improve their performances to preserve culture and tradition for the future generations.
Mrs. Ngoma said cultural activities have almost been forgotten because works such as dances, singing and sculpture were previously famous in the villages but are unfortunately phasing out now.
