Indeni Petroleum Refinery will be shut down from November 15 – to December 15, 2015, to facilitate annual maintenance.
Ministry of Energy Permanent Secretary Emeldah Chola has disclosed the development.
Brigadier General Chola said the Ministry of Energy is building sufficient fuel stocks to cover the period – Indeni Petroleum Refinery will be shut.
She said her ministry has put in place mechanisms to prevent disruption in fuel supply.
Brigadier General Chola has appealed to local fuel suppliers to put in place measures to counter disruption in fuel supply.
She has warned that government will not take kindly to any entity that will neglect to do its part in ensuring that fuel supply continues to run smoothly.
Brigadier General Chola has also urged suppliers, retailers and consumers of fuel not to panic.
