“Who ever thought this ordinary Zambian girl would be an international award winning artist,” exclaimed Cleo after winning the Best Female Southern Africa award for the second African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
In her category, the Ice Queen battled for the top prize alongside Bucie (South Africa) and Toya De Lazy (South Africa).
The awards were held in Dallas, Texas on Saturday night (10/10/15).
Diamond from Tanzania won the highest awards on the night, he beat others to walk away with Best Dance Video, Best Male East Africa and the biggest award of the night, Artiste of the Year beating Flavour, Davido, Wizkid, Cassper Nyovest.
West African artiste like Davido won the (Best Male), Yemi Alade for (Best Female) followed by (Best Video) Wizkid for ‘Ojuelegba’.
The event was hosted by top Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth and Uganda’s Ann Kasiime, while Emma Nyra was the red carpet host.
