The Police Service in Northern Province has apprehended two people for allegedly having murdered a 16 year old boy.
The suspects deceased are alleged to have been murdered by Douglas Chikwe and Morgan Chikwe both of the same village “Kapopo Sanja” in Chief Nkolemfumu and was later thrown into the Lukulu river.
According to police, it is believed that the late had a misunderstanding with the two murder suspects before they pounced on him.
The sad ordeal happened on 25th April and the body is lying in Kasama General Hospital awaiting postmortem while the suspects are in police custody.
And In central province police have launched a man hunt for Watson Mwenge of Kabomga area in Kapiri Mposhi for allegedly having defiled a three (3) year old girl child.
The incident occurred on 25 April around 12:00 hours at Kabonga Area, in Kapiri Mposhi.
The mother to the defiled daughter Oderia Mwenge aged 36 of Kabonga area reported the matter to police after noticing that the daughter had sustained bruises in her private parts.
The defiled young girl was lift in the care of her uncle “Oderia Mwenge” whose age is not known but of the same abode as the mother had gone out to pursue other errands.
No arrest has been made as the suspect is on the run.
In a related development in eastern province a one year old girl child was defiled by two (2) men who are on the run.
The sad development occurred on 25th of April around 19:00 hours at Chikomba village, in Chief Zingalume of Chadiza district.
Dyford Phiri of Kamusese village reported on behalf of his daughter aged 14 that she was defiled by Kinodi Phiri and Masauso whose other name is not known but of the same village.
The victim sustained painful private parts and no arrests have since been made as the suspects are on the run.
And In Lusaka one person has died after being hit by a motor vehicle.
The accident occurred yesterday around 19:30 hours along Katyetye road, Chilenje South.
The accident happened when the victim was crossing the road before he was hit by an on-coming Toyota Corolla registration number ABX 2945 driven by John Banda who later fled the accident scene.
The name of the deceased pedestrian is not known but of Chalala residential area sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot.
Police have since launched the man hunt of the driver who is still at large.
While in southern province a one year five months baby died on the spot after being hit by a vehicle.
The accident happened yesterday around 16:30 hours along Samboko road, opposite house number 129, Dambwa Site and Service Livingstone.
Involved was a motor vehicle of unknown house number in Dambwa Site and Service, Livingstone.
The accident happened when the Toyota Corolla Saloon PSV registration number AJC 738 driven by Evans Lubasi lost control due to excessive speed and hit the one year five months pedestrian who was crossing the said road.
The victim sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot his body is in Livingstone general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
The driver is in police custody charged with causing death by dangerous driving contrary to section 161 of the road traffic accident act number 11 of 2002 of the laws of Zambia. He will appear in court soon.
And In a similar development in eastern province a 30 year old man died on the spot after colliding with an oncoming motor vehicle.
The accident occurred on 25th April around 18:30 hours at Matractor Unit along Great East road, 10 km East of Petauke Boma.
Involved was a motor vehicle Toyota Corolla, registration number ABX 1529 driven by Sailota Zulu aged 38 of Tasala 9 Compound, Petauke.
Mr Zulu collided with a rider David Nkungulu aged 30 of Petauke New houses who was riding a motor bike Yamaha 200 registration number ALH 9907 from Petauke Turn-off to Kangumbwe Basic School. The driver of the vehicle Mr Zulu escaped unhurt while the rider died on the spot.
The body is lying in Petauke District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem. Investigations have continued.
