—President Michael Sata is today expected in Shang’ombo district in Western Province to commission Shangombo District Hospital.
ZANIS reports that the hospital, which was built at a cost of over K26m and with a bed capacity of 130, is in line with the PF manifesto of providing easy access and adequate medical service delivery to the people.
The health institution will also stop the people of Shang’ombo district from covering long distance in order to access medical attention.
According to Health Permanent Secretary, Peter Mwaba, the hospital is made up of four wards that include the female, maternity, male and children with an approximate 50 per cent capacity of human resource.
Dr Mwaba added that apart from the four wards, the hospital comprises of the laundry section, kitchen, theatre, x-ray and mortuary.
