Mansa, April 13, ZANIS ———- Luapula Province Minister Benson Kapaya has observed that Luapula Province records a high number of eye diseases.
Brigadier General Kapaya says the coming up of an eye Admission ward at Mansa General Hospital will go a long way in addressing the problems of eyes in the province.
ZANIS reports that the Provincial Minister said this at Mansa General Hospital yesterday when he toured an incomplete block adopted by the Lions Club of Mansa which will once completed be used as the eye patients ward.
General Kapaya commended the Lions Club of Mansa saying the work of the lions club is a noble one which should be supported.
The Provincial Minister has since called on the business community in the province to come together and join hands and emulate the work of the Lions club.
And Lions Club Mansa first Vice President Lion Fryton Musukwa said it is saddening that there is no Admission ward for eye patients at Mansa General Hospital.
Lion Musukwa said the Lions Club in Mansa saw it fit to adopt the abandoned structure to construct an eye Admission Ward because of the suffering that eye patients go through.
Mansa General Hospital currently has no eye admission ward and depends on empty wards to admit patients.
