Sata cautions Mtendere residents
Lusaka, April 9, ZANIS-Lusaka Deputy Mayor Mulenga Sata has cautioned residents of Lusaka’s Mtendere compound against vandalizing the council owned learning institutions in the area.
Mr. Sata called on the residents to remain committed in ensuring that they preserve and protect the council owned institutions in the area.
He further said the Council remains committed in offering early child education at affordable fees to all the less privileged children in various compounds of Lusaka.
He was speaking in Lusaka’s Mtendere compound when he handed over the newly renovated Mtendere Preschool to the community in the area.
Mr. Sata also disclosed that the Council has embarked on an ambitious programme to raise funds for the rehabilitation of all council run institutions in various compounds of Lusaka.
He has since called on other organisations to supplement the council’s efforts in improving lives of the less privileged in the communities.
Earlier, Mtendere Ward councillor Benjamin Chanda said the refurbishing of the Preschool will motivate many children who access their education at the school.
Mr. Chanda also urged parents to encourage their children to attend classes frequently.
