2014-2017 Strategic Direction on Health Systems hailed
Samfya ,January 16th , 2014, ZANIS–Luapula Province Medical Officer Mathews Ngambi said the recently approved 2014-2017 Strategic Direction on Health Systems by cabinet will help reduce the rapid spread of malaria in the province.
Dr. Ngambi said the development has come at the right time considering that malaria has for a long period of time remained as a life threatening disease for the people in the province.
He told ZANIS in an interview in Samfya yesterday that his office together with other key stakeholder in the province remains committed to ensure that malaria is eradicated in the next three years.
Dr. Ngambi further said the three year strategic direction on health systems in the province will also help address the issue of the rising number of new HIV infections.
And Dr. Ngambi disclosed that his office has put tangible measures in place of ensuring that all babies in the province are born free from new HIV infections by the year 2020.
