Zanaco captain Henry Banda and defender Salulani Phiri in fitness race for their April 6 CAF Champions League visit to Orlando Pirates.
Coach Keagan Mumba told MTNfootball.com website that he was confident the midfielder and defender would be fit in time for next week’s first round, final leg tie in Johannesburg.
“The injuries are not serious,” Mumba said.
“Henry has a pulled thigh muscle while Salulani has a slight knock on the knee.
“We are hoping they will recover in time for the Pirates game.”
Zanaco trail Pirates 1-0 from the first round, first leg game played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on March 16.
The Zambian club has an uphill battle in Johannesburg next week where they need to score two unanswered goals to overturn their first leg home defeat.
Winner over both legs will face victor of the first round tie between DR Congo side TP Mazembe and Mochudi Centre Chiefs of Botswana in the second round in mid-April.
Mazembe lead 1-0 from their first leg match played on March 16 away in Gaborone.
