Government has maintained that the weak linkage that exists between Medical Stores and health institutions in the country is causing the continued artificial shortages of drugs in some health centers.
Health Minister, Dr. Joseph Kasonde has told QFM News in an interview that there is a logistical difficult between Medical Stores and health institutions in the country on the collection and delivery of the drugs.
Dr. Kasonde states that government is addressing this logical challenge in order to end the shortages of drugs in clinics.
He says it is the wish of government to see to it that all health centers have adequate and enough drugs so that patients are not inconvenienced.
Dr Kasonde adds that this logistical difficult is manageable if the players involved remain committed by ensuring that they collect and deliver drugs in time.
He has since assured the nation that government is working round the clock in ensuring that the shortage of drugs in health institutions is addressed.
