Zambia Sugar Plc yesterday afternoon (20 June) paid a courtesy call at the home of the First Republican President, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, to express their gratitude for Dr Kaunda attending the inaugural Zambia Sugar Open 2014 tournament that was held from 3 – 8 June 2014 at the Lusaka Golf Club. Dr Kaunda teed off at the Zambia Sugar ProAm on 3 June.
The Managing Director of Zambia Sugar Plc, Dr Aubrey Chibumba, led the delegation, which included Gilbert Kaimana. Dr Chibumba said his company was encouraged by Dr. Kaunda’s endorsement of the tournament as well as his aspirations for golf to be taken up by as many people as possible in Zambia.
In this vein, Zambia Sugar has committed to develop golf amongst the youth of Zambia, both girls and boys, to lay the foundation for a crop of budding and talented Zambian golfers to emerge.
