PS advises public workers to insure their properties
Kasama, March 5, ZANIS ——- Northern Province Permanent Secretary Hlobotha Nkunika has stressed the need for civil servants to take insurance covers on their valued property.
Speaking during the official opening of Professional Insurance Branch in Kasama over the week end, Mr Nkunika said with government stride of improving the welfare of civil servants through opening up financial institutions that will give loans to enable public service workers to buy households and houses, it was vital to have insurance cover.
He advised civil servants to consider protecting their hard-earned properties by taking insurance cover against any lose.
And Mr Nkunika has however, appealed to Insurance Companies to start settling claims faster than prolonging the documentation processes if they have to build utmost of good faith with their clients.
He pointed out that as quickly as they get the premiums of an insured property they should reciprocate by settling the claims fast.
And Professional Insurance Managing Director Geoffrey Chirwa has promised to offer the would be clients quality and efficient services.
Mr Chirwa revealed that Kasama branch is the 15th branch to opened in Zambia saying that Professional Insurances management found it fit to extend its service to Northern province.
He observed that many property owners have not been insuring their houses which suffer calamities such as storm or fire.
Mr Chirwa said even business premises in Kasama are not insured the move he said need to be looked into seriously.
The official opening of the branch was attended by government officials that included Kasama District Commissioner Kalanga Bwalya and the business community in Kasama.
