Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe says plans are underway to put up more filling stations in Kasama.
Mr Sikazwe disclosed that the provincial administration has received a number of applications from people intending to construct filling stations the district.
He added that they are only waiting for government to allocate land for construction of the filling stations.
Motorists in Kasama have advised the government to find a lasting solution to the erratic fuel supply in the town.
Motorists noted that they are spending a lot of time queuing up for the commodity at the expense of venturing into productive activities.
And one of the motorists Felix Chimba has appealed for more filing stations in Kasama to cater for the increased number of vehicles.
