The National Aids Council (NAC) has advised the African continent to find home grown solutions against the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
And visiting Tanzanian permanent secretary in the office of the Prime Minister Dr Florens Turuka says Zambia and Tanzania can learn a lot from each other in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
National Aids Council (NAC) Chairperson Bishop Joshua Banda say African countries need to stand in solidarity in tackling the HIV/AIDS scourge which has ravaged most countries on the Continent.
He noted that with homegrown initiatives African nations can systematically and comprehensively address the challenges of HIV/AIDS.
Bishop Banda sad this during a Barrick Lumwana and NAC media reception at Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka, last evening.
He said people are anxious for tangible results and concrete action to improve the quality of life and that good health was a major factor in attaining this goal.
And Bishop Banda says his organisation was reviewing and evaluating its strategies in an effort to assess the impact its efforts have made in addressing the HIV scourge.
Meanwhile, visiting Tanzanian permanent secretary in the office of the Prime Minister Dr Florens Turuka says Zambia and Tanzania can learn a lot from each other in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Dr Turuka noted that the two governments have made serious commitments at the globe level towards eradicating the scourge and that it was imperative therefore that they step up interventions to address the challenge.
