Government has urged the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) to continue with the good work of disseminating information to the public.
Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Mwansa Kapeya said government will provide the necessary tools for ZANIS to continue to perform to the expectation of the public.
Mr. Kapeya said ZANIS has been performing very well especially after the introduction of its news bulletin which airs three times in a week on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) television.
Mr. Kapeya said government was ready to provide all the necessary tool to the department as long as it continues to show results.
He said this in Lusaka today when he handed over a Toyota Land Cruiser motor vehicle to Muchinga Province Information Officer Jonathan Mukuka.
He warned Mr. Mukuka and his driver against personalizing the vehicle which was procured for official use only.
And ZANIS Director Patrick Lungu commended government for its efforts of strengthening the operations of the department at both provincial and district levels.
Mr. Lungu noted that government has so far been striving to strengthen the capacity of ZANIS’ provincial centers through the provision of motor vehicle and other equipment in order for the department to provide quality services to the public.
He stated that government will soon procure vehicles for provinces that have not yet received in a bid to enhance the operations of all ZANIS officers in the country.
Meanwhile, Muchinga Province Information Officer Jonathan Mukuka assured the minister that his office will ensure that the new vehicle is put to good use.
