Opposition United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema has charged that investigations against by the Police are politically motivated.Police this morning recorded a warn and caution statement from Mr. Hichilema in connection with a statement he made recently that the Patriotic Front had deployed militia to Kasama to attack Alliance for Better Zambia president Fr Frank Bwalya.
Mr. Hichilema who spoke to journalists through his lawyer Sakwiba Sikota says he will cooperate with Police investigations in the matter.
The UPND leader who has been warned and cautioned for publishing false news and causing alarm to the public in connection with a statement he recently made that the Patriotic Front had deployed militia to Kasama to attack Alliance for Better Zambia president Fr Frank Bwalya, has reiterated that the ruling Patriotic Front is abusing the public order Act.
Mr. Hichilema has also called on his supporters to remain calm and be peaceful at all time.
His lawyer Dr. Sakwiba Sikota spoke to journalists after the UPND leader was interrogated for over two hours at Woodlands Police station yesterday.
