The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has refuted media reports that it is shielding some Cabinet Ministers in the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) procurement investigations.
ACC Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono, has charged that the Commission does not, and will not shield anyone in the on-going FISP procurement investigations.
Mr Moono said the ACC is professionally carrying out its investigations to establish the facts relating to the procurement process of the fertilisers.
In a statement issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Mr Moono was reacting to a news headline titled “ACC Shielding of Corrupt Ministers” carried in today’s Daily Nation Newspaper.
The article was attributed to Mwandi Member of Parliament, Michael Kaingu, with reference to the current investigations on the procurement of the fertiliser under the FISP programme.
Mr Moono said the Commission will bring to book any culpable person regardless of his/her position in government once evidence of abuse of authority during the procurement of the fertiliser is established.
