—–SEED CO-Zambia Limited Company says it is ready to supply seeds to both local and foreign farmers for the 2013/2014 farming season across the country.
SEEDCO Managing Director, Grace Bwanali, says her company remains committed to complementing government’s efforts in improving the agricultural sector in the nation.
Ms Bwanali disclosed the development toady during a media tour of the SEED CO –Zambia Limited company business complex in Lusaka West.
She said the company is more than ready even to supply seeds for farmers qualifying under the Farmer Support Input Programme (FISP) in the country for the forthcoming farming season.
And Ms Bwanali has also called on farmers in the country to be careful of some fake seed dealers during the coming season for their better yields.
Ms Bwanali told journalists that it is only SEED CO Company which is able to supply genuine products to the farming communities in the country.
She also revealed that the company has more than 8,000 tonnes of seeds in stock for the local farmers while more than 10 ,000 tonnes is ready for export to other countries in Africa which have a deficit.
Ms BWanali also stated that the company has so far invested over US $8 million dollars for the construction of the Zambia Business Complex situated in Lusaka West in Lusaka.
