Bharti Airtel has signed an agreement with Qatar Foundation Endowment (QFE) under which Bharti will sell five percent stake in the latter.
QFE will acquire new shares in Bharti for US$1.26 billion.
The investment will further strengthen the capital structure and provide further flexibility for Bharti Airtel to deliver on its growth strategy.
This is according to a statement availed to the Daily Mail on Thursday by Airtel head of corporate communications and government relations Chabuka Kawesha.
