Government has warned Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba against issuing press statements without permission from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary in charge of administration Ronald Simwinga says the statement by Mr Mwamba that Roan member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili had been evacuated to South Africa for medical treatment had potential to undermine the government.
Dr. Simwinga says such a statement was supposed to be issued by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting and not Mr. Mwamba.
He has told ZNBC News in a statement that Mr. Mwamba and other heads of missions have been cautioned against discussing policy matters in the media.
