North-Western establishes empowerment committee
Solwezi, May 28, ZANIS ——–North-Western provincial administration has established an empowerment committee that will be sensitizing the people in the province about various government empowerment programmes.
North-Western province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Seyuba says his office has realized that most people in the province do not have adequate information on how to access government empowerment funds and support.
Mr Seyuba disclosed this in a walking interview with Zambia News and Information Services in Solwezi today just after he conducted an impromptu tour of government departments housed at National Pension Scheme Authority building.
He said the provincial empowerment committee is composed of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) and ministries of gender and child development, community development mother and child health and youth and sport.
Mr Seyuba said the responsibility of the empowerment committee will be to give information to the people so that they are made aware of what kind of support government has for them.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary urged Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) to engage the empowerment committee during the sensitization activities.
And PACRA North-Western Regional Manager, Kachenga Chisupa said the agency has received a lot of applications for people who want to register their companies following a series of sensitization meetings they have had recently.
