Government has warned UPND vice president for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba to stop inciting people to rise against a legitimate Government.
Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says Mr. Mwamba’s statement in today’s Post that people should effect a citizen’s arrest on Ministers that have remained in office after the dissolution of Parliament is tantamount to inciting people to rise
Dr. Kambwili who is also Minister of Information and Broadcasting has warned Mr. Mwamba not to dare Government.
He says in a statement issued to ZNBC News that it is not Government’s fault that some people are incapable of understanding straight forward provisions in the Constitution.
Dr. Kambwili said Mr. Mwamba should be the last person to talk about abuse of public resources as it had to take late President Michael Sata to restrain him from amassing for himself privileges and conditions such as military escorts when he served as Defence minister.
The Minister has reiterated that Government, under President Edgar Lungu, will not waiver on its resolve to uphold the Constitution of Zambia in the governance of the country.
Dr. Kambwili has also called on Zambians to read the Constitution and avoid being misled by selfish politicians who want to gain political mileage.
